Eduardo, the slimy snail. A short story
A story about a slimy snail, meet Eduardo
Once upon a time, in the far West, withering dunes left and right, whispering winds swirling around, birds orchestras playing in the background.. There was a slimy snail called Eduardo.
He was on a special quest, a very important one that would change his life forever.
Eduardo was on a mission to find a magical straw of grass, the sword of excelsior, the rough diamond hidden in the desert, that piece of pie with the golden bean.
Oh and this was a journey that required courage, awareness and perseverance.
With his helmet of heroism, he continued his way through the sand swamp of grassy heights.
Now how would he know if he has found the magical straw of grass?
The answer is one, not of knowing, but of feeling…
He will feel the pull, the attraction; he will hear the crisp calling; he will see the lively light…
First he encountered the great Ant.
“Where can I find this magical straw?”, he asked.
“Beyond the eyes, beyond the ears, beyond the perception” the great Ant responded.
Eduardo continued, even more confused than before. The Ant must have eaten too much mushrooms, he thought.
Next, the buzzing Bee flew on his path.
“Oooooh Honeyyyy”, the Bee said, “are you lost?”
“Where can I find the magical straw of grass?”, Eduard asked.
“Bzzzz that’s a treasure you will never find within the mystical maze of your mind”
This Bee must be on a sugar rush, Eduardo thought… Let’s just continue and hide in the bushes to get some sleep.
The crescent morning crawled over slowly and he was surprised by a nose to nose interaction with a twerking Turtle.
Now I must still be dreaming, a twerking Turtle?!
Yet he was intrigued, so once again he asked, “where can I find the magical straw of grass, the one that will make me feel joy all the time and live till eternity?”
“hoooo slooooooo dooooownn”, the twerking Turtle said.
“For once you will have eternity, you will wish you were dead. The matters of the heart are widely spread. Embrace the shadows in your head. The light will slowly show you the straw that will keep your mouth fed”.
Now I need to stretch and meditate.. or journal, the snail thought, to figure this all out.
7 time loops later, Eduardo suddenly realised that the spoken words were to be received with his heart, not his head.
7 layers later, gracefully shed, with an empty stomach as if his life was hanging by a thread.
The magical straw of grass has been right in front of me all along!
I just did not yet understand the lyrics of my heart’s song.
And with that said, Eduardo enjoyed a juicy magical straw of grass
with a heart full of home and a pocket full of sass.
The end (for now)
